Wood production and nature conservation
When trees are felled in Palsgaard's forests, the majority of the wood is used for building timber, veneer and cellulose wood. But forests also have an important function as habitats for plants and animals. Therefore, Palsgaard Estate is committed to running a sustainable forest management that takes into account both production and nature conservation.
Natural values and outdoor life
Old oak trees, bogs, small streams and ancient monuments are just some of the natural values you can find in the forests. The coastal path from Snaptun to Juelsminde winds through the forest, and a heart path at Juelsminde invites you to an active break. In Juelsminde Forest, mountain bikers can also test their skills on a challenging course.
Forestry in the Baltic States
In addition to the Danish forests, Palsgaard Gods also owns approx. 5,200 hectares of forest in Latvia and Lithuania. The forests in the Baltic States are mainly planted with Scots pine, birch and Norway spruce. They are both PEFC and FSC certified, which ensures sustainable operations.
