BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN PALSGAARD CASTLE PARK
Mill
The windmill was built in 1914, and the following year a waterworks was also built. Palsgaard Estate was initially an agricultural and forestry company. With large areas of land and a lot of forest at their disposal, there was a lot of income to be gained, and Estate Owner Einar Viggo Schou was quick to ensure that all production tools were optimal. The windmill and waterworks served as a driving force for the sawmill, threshing mill and flour production, and natural power was thus used by Schou, even after he built his own power plant (the current visitor centre) at Palsgaard in 1910.
