Tulip tree
Liriodendron Tulipifera
The botanical name of the tulip tree is Liriodendron tulipifera. It is closely related to Magnolia, but differs somewhat from it by the arch-shaped cut leaves. The fruit is a cone-like multiple fruit, with many winged nuts.
The leaves are almost square and 4 -10cm long. In autumn, the leaves turn bright yellow with red tints and in June–July, tulip-like flowers appear, which are often hidden between the leaves. Sepals are protruding and green, the petals are oblong, inversely ovate, erect and green to yellow, on the inner side broadly orange striped. The flower has numerous stamens The fruiting stand is 6–8 cm and remains after leaf fall.
