Denmark was once ruled from Palsgaard

Palsgaard has had many owners throughout the castle's long history. The politician Peder Reedtz is the most prominent of these. He served as many as three Danish kings – Christian IV, Frederick III, and Christian V – and was chancellor during the last two. As Chancellor of the Realm, he was the real leader of Denmark. Even though Peder Reedtz did not stay at Palsgaard all the time, it is a fascinating thought that Denmark was actually ruled from Palsgaard in the years 1665 - 1674!
